One of the men swung his blade at me from the left while another swung from the right. I spun my body through the air to evade both and before I hit the ground, I kicked one of them down with me. The man who was still standing swung his sword at me again, but I was able to block it with my wrist guard. Before he could think of a counter, I jabbed my fist right into his nose, breaking it and knocking him out instantly.

At that very moment, I heard a howl and quickly scanned the area looking for silver through the sand cloud. I ran until I escaped the dust, but I was too late. Once I got out of the cloud, I saw Lumi tied onto a raft being pulled by two large lizard-like creatures that I had never seen before. They were capturing him!

“Crystal!” I shouted, “They’re getting away with Silver!”

“Aeráki!” I heard Alizeh yell. The sand cloud immediately dispersed, and all the rest of the bandits were lying down in the sand. She seemed to have made quick work of them. But I didn’t see Crystal anywhere in sight.

“Where’s Crystal?” I asked.

Alizeh glanced around. “She was here just a moment ago.”

“Damnit!” I growled. My instincts told me that they had to have taken her too. “Come on! We’re going after them!” I ordered while darting off after the raft. But it was too fast. I had no idea how we would catch up with it on foot until Alizeh said another spell.

“Paírno Ptísi!”

Next thing I knew, Alizeh grabbed onto me from behind and lifted me in the air. We were flying and at a fast pace. But we needed to go even faster if we were going to catch up to them.

“Alizeh, can’t you go any faster?”

“I’ll try but you’re kinda heavy.” She took a deep breath and continued, “Grígoros Ánemos!”

The spell made us go even faster until we were right on their tail. As we got closer, I realized the raft had something mechanical on the back of it. One of the bandits lit a small flame on the object and that’s when I knew exactly what we were dealing with.

“Alizeh, watch out!” I shouted. “That’s a cannon!”

“A what?”

Before I could repeat myself, it went off, firing straight at us. Alizeh let go, allowing me to evade the incoming danger, but in return, she got hit point blank and was sent flying out of sight. Once I landed in the sand I quickly grabbed onto a loose rope hanging from the raft and was pulled along with it. I held on for dear life and used all my strength to pull myself onto the raft.

As soon as I got on board, I saw a spear heading right for me. I dodged it, quickly got to my feet and tackled the man who threw it. Once I pinned him to the ground, I pulled out my dagger and drove it right into his neck. At the same time, I saw a glimpse of someone coming from my blind side.
